Hotel Indigo Paris Opera
The InterContinental Hotel Group made a splash when it debuted its first Indigo branded boutique hotel in France in September 2014. Situated in a Haussmannian townhouse on a lovely pedestrianised street, the hotel is a stylish and quiet haven just off the bustling Grands Boulevards. In-demand designer Jean-Philippe Nuel waved his wand over the interiors, which reflect the setting that’s just a stone’s throw from the Opéra Garnier. Elegant wall murals depict ballet dancers, and custom photography captures the neighbourhood’s famous sites. A savvy use of mirrors in the downstairs bar and Tartares restaurant plays with perspective to enlarge the space. There are 57 rooms, and we highly recommend one of the duplex suites (like room No. 601) with a downstairs living room with windows that frame a beautiful cityscape… and the Eiffel Tower glittering in the distance. 2 Rue Édouard VII, 75009. I stayed at the Hotel Indigo Barcelona, and loved it. Glad to hear that the Indigo brand is in Paris now.
