Newly renovated, this four-star boutique hotel is a great find in the heart of the 6th arrondissement. The setting alone is exceptional: from this address on a quiet street near the Odéon theatre, it’s just a quick stroll to the Jardin du Luxembourg or the busy Boulevard Saint-Germain. Even today, there’s an authenticity to this little coin of the Left Bank which is alluring.
Inspired by the 1930s, the design aesthetic channels Art Deco with a touch of vintage glamour. The designers’ attention to detail is evidenced in the high-quality furnishings, comfortable beds, and the clever selection of fabrics and colours – combined with ultra-smart bathrooms. Materials throughout are tactile and interesting – shot silk, satin, exotic dark woods, black lacquers and brightly coloured leathers.
There’s no restaurant on site, but there is a breakfast buffet and a leafy garden terrace. An added plus is the helpful and friendly staff. Tip: The best room in the house is the suite at the top of the hotel with its very own roof terrace.
