Hotel Meyerhold Opera Paris
This new design-driven hotel in the 9th arrondissement recreates the ambiance of a private home in a classic Parisian townhouse. The owners, Monsieur et Madame Atlani, enlisted fashion designer Anne Gelbard to imagine the interiors inspired by the Constructivism and Bauhaus movements of the 1930s. Each of the 29 rooms is uniquely styled with a mélange of contemporary décor and antiques sourced from markets in Paris and Brussels. In fact, each of the six floors has a different design scheme; think “The Dandy,” “le nom du Capitaine” and “Bauhaus.” Creature comforts run the gamut from in-room robes and organic bath products to free wireless Internet. Gelbard has succeeded in creating an elegant haven, made vibrant with pops of color and Art Deco armchairs. Facilities include a salon for Afternoon Tea, a Champagne bar, and a small spa with a hammam and two treatment rooms.
