Hotel Crayon Rouge

Opened in summer 2014, Hotel Crayon Rouge is smack dab in the heart of the first arrondissement, not far from the Louvre and the Palais Royal gardens. Behind the façade on rue Croix des Petits Champs, you’ll find an explosion of colour in 17 guest rooms. The design aesthetic is playful, with vintage furniture, pretty wallpaper, and cool retro touches, like decorative rotary phones in every Crayola hue.

In the spirit of a maison d’hôtes (guesthouse), there’s an open kitchen where guests can sit together around a large communal table to partake in the copious breakfast buffet. In the evening, it transforms into a wine bar where you can taste wines paired with cheese and charcuterie.

If you’re traveling alone, the hotel’s cocoon-like single rooms are a great option at a reasonable price for this city-center location. Also good to know: the hotel can be completely privatized for groups.
