This site is tremendously helpful. We are leaving after Christmas for our second visit to Paris and plan to venture out a little. Chartres is already on the list. Perhaps a few Chateaux, We were wondering about taking the train to Baayeaux(sp?) to see the famous tapestry there. Has anyone done this, how long, is it worth it etc.

Bayeux is worth visiting, but it is not a day trip. See the following tourist site.
