A Tempting Japanese Food Pop-Up at Lafayette Gourmet

Uncover the beauty of Japanese gastronomy at Lafayette Gourmet’s pop-up, showcasing culinary delights from the other side of the world. This is an unmissable opportunity to enjoy three of the best names in the Franco-Japanese culinary scene. Lafayette Gourmet, the epicurean marketplace across from Galeries Lafayette Haussmann, presents a unique and complementary journey to the Land of the Rising Sun.

For your main course, Gili-Gili provides its signature Onigiri – an iconic and traditional Japanese snack. A triangular snack made with rice and wrapped in nori seaweed, Onigiri is convenient to carry and easy to eat, as well as deliciously nutritious – making it a staple for picnics and school lunches. Flavor-packed with healthy and local ingredients, it’s no wonder that Gili-Gili has become a timeless classic.

With four stores located on rue Sainte-Anne, Aki Boulangerie (which was founded in 2007) will provide delectable bakes perfect for dessert. Aki Boulangerie is crafting a range of Japanese sweets with a Parisian twist for the occasion: mochis, melon breads, and sweet burgers to be exact.

Once satiated, the sake from Wakaze brewery makes for the perfect digestif. Founded by Takuma Inagawa and the brewer Shoya Imai, Wakaze brewery presents the ideal blend of Japanese and French influences – the first sake ever made in France with 100% local ingredients. Made with high quality rice produced in the Camargue and koji (a ferment made in-house), Wakaze sake is an excellent complement to finish off your Japanese culinary journey.

The new pop-up will be held from April 20 to May 31, 2022 on the ground floor of the Maison & Gourmet store. The store is open Monday to Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. (except holidays).
