10 Best Hotel Terraces in Paris to Enjoy Summer
Summer has finally hit Paris, and with full force! Here are our top 10 hotel terraces where you can stay cool and soak up a summery vibe. Hôtel Barrière Le Fouquet’s Joy at Hôtel Barrière Le Fouquet’s has been cheerfully decked out with sunflowers for the new season, invoking the feel of summery days in the countryside rather than the city. Not only can you enjoy drinks and light snacks but the hotel will also be serving up a full a la carte menu for dining al fresco. 46 Avenue George V, 75008 Hôtel Alfred Sommier The terrace at Hôtel Alfred Sommier is still one of Paris’ best kept secrets. Surprisingly large and wonderfully tranquil, soak up the sun and pretend you’re in your own private garden at the still family-owned hotel particulier. 20 rue de l’Arcade, 75008 Hôtel des Grands Boulevards Back again for its second summer, The Shed at the Hotel Grands Boulevards looks set to be one of the most fashionable spots in the city once again. Get away from the bustle of the boulevard by heading up high to the hotel’s rooftops terrace, where craft cocktails come courtesy of the Experimental Group. 17 Boulevard Poissonnière, 75002 Mama Shelter Possibly the most chilled out spot in the 20eme, Mama Shelter’s private rooftop terrace has everything you need to kick back and relax, including friendly staff, fantastic service, a generous three-course prix fixe evening menu (the chicken from the rooftop’s Rotisserie is delicious!) and plenty of summery sangria. 109 Rue de Bagnolet, 75020 Brach Brach Paris certainly caused a buzz when it opened last year, in part due to the rooftop’s very Instagrammable Eiffel Tower view, which is best enjoyed while relaxing in the hot tub. However, as the rooftop is only for hotel guests, Brach also recently opened a first floor terrace for non-guests, so everyone can enjoy balmy summer evenings with one of the hotel’s signature cocktails in hand. 1-7 Rue Jean Richepin, 75016 The Westin Paris – Vendôme The Westin Paris – Vendôme hosts two seasonal pop-ups each year in its Jardin d’Hiver, and looks to Africa for inspiration this summer. The private terrace has been transformed with leafy palms and pops of color and animal print, and serves up a new seasonal summer menu complete with a champagne bar courtesy of Perrier-Jouët. 3 Rue de Castiglione, 75001 Meliá Paris La Défense If you’re working in La Défense this summer, then the Skyline Bar is the place to be for an after-work apéro. Enjoy tapas-style bar snacks and an extensive drinks list, or join in one of the yoga classes being held on the 18th floor terrace throughout summer, set to a spectacular backdrop of Paris. 3 Boulevard de Neuilly, 92400 Courbevoie Le Royal Monceau – Raffles Paris Le Royal Monceau – Raffles Paris has teamed up with Tanqueray to bring the Royal Garden to the hotel’s luxuriously private terrace. Frozen cocktails by Tanqueray No. Ten and ice-creams from Pierre Hermé are a delicious way to cool down during the summer, or enjoy the terrace’s new menu of tacos to share and pizzas from Italian chef Gennaro Nasti as you shade yourself under the terrace’s leafy green trees. 37 Avenue Hoche, 75008 OFF Paris Seine La Mer a Boire is back again at OFF Paris Seine, serving up fresh oysters and other seafood delights alongside crisp glasses of wine and Lillet cocktails. Also look out for events such as oyster pairing with cocktails from Les Animaux Bars to a seafood photography masterclass. 86 Quai d’Austerlitz, 75013 Hôtel de Crillon This summer the Hôtel de Crillon’s Cour Gabriel will be transformed into the Yacht Club, in a partnership with Campari to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the Negroni cocktail. The French artist Alexandre Benjamin Navet has taken charge of the artistic direction of terrace, designed a colorful and summery setting for guests to enjoy the classic cocktail. 10 Place de la Concorde, 75008

Hi Arinda, yes you might still be able to catch some of the terraces in October! Mama Shelter's is only open in good weather, so you would need to check about that one when you arrive, and I think the Westin Paris Vendome might close its terrace in September so they can plan for the winter pop-up. But La Mer a Boire, which is also a pop-up, is planning on being at OFF Paris Seine until October and the Yacht Club at the Hotel de Crillon is there until October 4th. Others such as the lovely large terrace at Hotel Alfred Sommier are a permanent fixture at the hotel so I expect will be open if we still have some good weather. Enjoy your trip to Paris!

We won’t be in Paris until the first of October this year. If the weather’s nice, will some of these terraces remain open in the cooler weather?
