13 Inspiring Street Style Looks from Paris Fashion Week
It’s Fashion Week in Paris, which means that street style in the city – which is normally, already top tier – is serving even more elevated and exciting looks than your typical week. The City of Light is currently awash in fun fashion as show-goers flit about from runway show to runway show, eager to see what the designers deem most exciting for the upcoming season.
While all eyes are on the catwalk at a runway show, you’ll get a feast for the eyes in Paris watching those attending the show, as show-goers are, like the models, dressed to impress. Not only that, but they’re often wearing looks that are more fit for everyday wear (and every day price points).
Here are some looks that are catching our eye during Paris Fashion Week this week.
Playful Patterns
A playful pattern with bursts of color like this fun jacket is always in style, especially on a winter’s day in Paris. Add some levity to your wardrobe with pieces that make you smile.

Billowy Silhouettes
Roomy and billowy silhouettes have been en vogue for some time now, following the sharp decline and sudden disappearance of skinny jeans (don’t worry, they’ll be back). Roomy, flowy looks, like these black trousers, were seen everywhere this week in Paris.

Monochromatic Looks
A single-color palette is a trusty way to elevate any look, and monochromatic ensembles were all over Paris this week. Pair it with some killer shoes, like these sky-high boots, and you’ll be part of the fashion-in crowd, toute de suite.

Colorful Sweaters
Few things say “joy” like a pop of purple. This colorful sweater look combines a sense of play and fun (and warmth!) all while keeping the wearer cozy, and of course, fashionable.

Capes
Capes were spotted on multiple runways this week, so it makes sense that we’d see them here on the streets of Paris, too. While it’s a bold look, and some might be nervous to sport it, I say live out your cape fantasies and buy a fun cape to wear around town. In Paris, at least, you will be stylish. In fact, few – if anyone – will bat an eye.

Statement Jackets
As the name implies, a statement jacket is there for just that: to make a statement. This fashion-lover waiting for his metro train to the next show knows how to make his mark, from statement jacket to furry hat.

Capri Trousers
Capri trousers give off equestrian vibes, but they’re not just for jockeys and horse lovers. Capris are coming back into style. Pair them with boots and a loose-fitting blouse for a chic look.

Faux Fur Jackets
A faux fur jacket like this one, which evokes the character of Penny Lane from Almost Famous, adds a fun 1970s energy to the mix. If you wear one, wear it with pride, and with the energy of a musical legend, like Janis Joplin or the like.

Baseball Hats & Chunky Shoes
It’s a tried-and-true combo that is especially hip right now: baseball hats and chunky (the chunkier the better!) sneakers. You’ll be both casual and cool in this look, which is built for comfort, but also takes style into consideration.

Classically Cool Sneakers
And speaking of footwear, an evergreen classic like Adidas Sambas is always in style, especially among the fashion crowd. Join the fashionistas and models-off-duty who rely on a trusty pair of Sambas to get them from show to show.

Long Leather Jackets
This popular look, which is reminiscent of the film The Matrix, is perpetually in style, too. A long leather or faux-leather jacket levels-up any look, while also signaling that you mean business – whether it’s the business of fashion, or simply the business of going to the boulangerie to buy some pastries.

Parisian Black
It doesn’t get much chicer than black in Paris. And this head-to-toe black look, paired with sunglasses and gloves, looks practically ready for the catwalk.

Bright Tights & High Heels
Bright lights, big city – bright tights, high heels. A tights and high heels combo is also a trusty way to get through the depths of winter, and the higher the heel, the more of a statement you can make. (Even if that statement may be made at a slower pace.)
