The longest day of the year has come and gone in Paris – and it will only get better as the summer rolls on! July is a fantastic time to find yourself in Paris! Opera, Ballet and Theatre Performances
Kaguyahime – Choreographer Jiri Kylián, through July 15th
A ballet in the form of traditional Japanese dance interwoven with western music, this ballet is meant to explore moods and emotions that shape our world.
La Petite Danseuse de Degas – Choreographer Patrice Bart, through July 13th
Bringing Degas’ famous statuettes to life, this ballet brings the infamous Chat de Noir and backstage world of ballet dancers to life before your eyes.
La Donna Del Lago, Conductor Roberto Abbado, through July 10th
Considered Rossini’s most romantic opera, the story unfolds in Scotland. However, the true crowd pleaser of this performance will be the return of Juan Diego Florez to the Paris Opéra. Monsieur Florez has been hailed as the greatest Rossini tenor of our times.
Les Miserables – Performed in English , closes July 4th

Les Etes de la Danse de Paris, Novosirbirsk Ballet Company, Directed by Igor Zelensky , July 7th – 24th
The festival, Summer of Dance in Paris, features the Novosibirsk Ballet company for the first time since 1967. A variety of performances are on the agenda, including Balanchine Evening, Swan Lake and La Bayadere.
The Cunning Little Vixen, Conductor Michael Schonwandt, through July 12th
Said to be inspired by the a cartoon, this opera brings to life the life of the forest. The story unveils the circle of life as seen through the creatures that live in the forest.

3 A free event open to all that is aimed at promoting a new kind of tourism in Paris. An unusual way to explore the City of Light
Paris Festival of Cinema
3-13 Over 75,000 people participated in the Paris Cinema IFF last year. This is a film festival for all kinds of audiences and Japan is this year’s highlight with over 100 films
6 Nocturne Musicale, concert by the Quatour Amedeo Modigliani 7:30pm
Bal des Pompiers – Fireman’s Ball in Paris
13, 14 The firehouses open their doors to the public and discos abound for the Fireman’s Ball. Most firehouses are free to enter, although some will charge a cover fee to come in and join the party. It is a fantastic night to honour and celebrate the Pompiers of Paris!
Bastille Day
14 The country of France celebrates its national holiday with a parade down the Champs Elysées in the morning and a fantastic fireworks display near the Eiffel Tower, all arranged to music, in the evening. There will also be concerts in the Champ du Mars and military displays set up at Les Invalides.
25 The world’s toughest sporting event sprints to the finish line on the Champs Elysées as the riders make their final bid to win a stage.
