One of the many things I love about France is the beautiful language. I majored in it in college and planned to live there after graduation. My plans took a slight detour when I met my husband and the rest is history (albeit a happy history), as they say.
I work at a large museum which has an international reputation, and despite our rural location in Upstate NY, attracts interns and others from around the world. We currently have a young intern in our conservation department from Paris. She speaks good English, but much to my delight, when we meet in the kitchen or pass in the hall, she greets me in French. Although I've never lost the accent, my vocabulary is rusty, to put it mildly. Since we don't live in a large city with Berlitz or other similar opportunities, I have to settle for the internet. Stacy and others have posted links to news and other broadcasts. If anyone has other hints for keeping current, please post!
