Thank you -- these are the type of posts we need to read. Bigerrade's refusal to honor your reservation us inexcusable if the staff wasn't answering its phone. We'd love to hear more details about the good meals you ate. The adage that you can't get a bad meal in Paris no longer holds true. SAD.
Having had wonderful meals, or at least wonderful service, at Gaya, Bouquinistes, Les Ombres, Mariage Freres, Petit Marguery, and ohters on my recent trip, I was shocked at the bad treatment our friend received from the chef and Maitre de at Bigarrade. I can't say anything about the food, since we never got to eat there. Our friend flew in from Switzerland to have lunch with us and made the reservation at Bigarrade. She tried the night before and in the morning to call to confirm the reservation but nobody answered the phone. When we got there, early, on a horrible rainy day, they had given away her reservation and were totally unpleasant about it. It was certainly a first for me and for my friend, a Frenchwoman, as well. Highly unrecommended.
