Cocktail fever has swept through Paris. (Check out our story on where in town to drink sublime craft cocktails). A “new” drinking destination that’s getting its share of buzz is Pavillon Ledoyen, just a stone’s throw from the Petit Palais off the Champs-Elysées.
Chef Yannick Alléno, who took the reins of the restaurant in July 2014 and promptly scored three Michelin stars for his cuisine, recently reopened the pavillion’s legendary bar. For many years, this watering hole was populated by prominent literary personalities.
Open every day from 12 noon to 2 am (Saturday from 7 pm to 2 am), the bar specializes in cocktails maison paired with fun bites dreamt up by the culinary maestro himself. Our pick? Try Gin Fresh- a potent concoction of gin, ginger, cucumber, Orgeat syrup, lime and a sprinkling of nutmeg. After sampling the plate of five salinités, don’t forget dessert!
And so the night comes back to life at the centuries-old Pavillon Ledoyen.
