The Blossom Arms

The self-proclaimed “Modern Pub with Frenchy sauce” serves the best fish & chips in Paris. Opened in March 2024, it’s all about conviviality and draught craft beer. This brilliant concept is by Alexandre Chapier, the founder of Blossom Burgers (rue de Chabrol, 10th), the most rock ‘n roll of Parisian burger joints. His credo in the 17th? Reconciling Guinness lovers, initiated foodies and English football fans around the table and at the bar.

The chef first worked in Lot-et-Garonne, in the kitchens of the now shuttered Une Auberge en Gascogne, with chef Fabrice Biasiolo, then he trained in Paris, alongside Akrame Benallal, then in Bordeaux, finally in London with Gordon Ramsay. Now, in homage to his love of London and its culture, the chef is bringing fish & chips, a symbol of English street-food, to the French capital.

Start with L’Ozzy’s fish & chips (€21)-  ultra-crispy batter sprinkled with spices, tender haddock fillet golden fries – double-cooked of course! Try the fish burger (€18.90)-  just as crispy, in its plump potato bun, homemade tartar sauce. Or choose the fried halloumi, served with crunchy broccolini and curry mayo. There’s also a soft crab bun, with kohlrabi remoulade, chervil, iceberg and pickles; tuna melt with buttered bread, mayo and cheddar; and grilled cheese toastie with 12-month Comté, matured cheddar and pickles. Don’t miss the decadent chocolate & Guinness mousse.

There’s the same care for quality when it comes to booze: the Paddington Martini (€12.50), London Mule (€9.50), selection of craft beers on tap, and bien sûr, Guinness!

We admire the handsome bar, bottle-green walls, bright tapestries and eclectic mix of offbeat photos and paintings on the walls. It’s a unique atmosphere; we’re in Paris which we love, a beer in one hand, eyes fixed on Premier League matches broadcast on the screens! Making new best friends, perfect for Valentine celebrations.
