I took this photo a while back at the Centquatre, the art and community center in Paris’ 19th arrondissement. For several months, a gorgeous and unique carousel was installed in the 104’s main hall. Kids and adults would line up to take their turn riding on moving mechanical bugs, fish and animals. The merry-go-round is called “Le Manège Carré Sénart” and it was built by François Delarozière, the designer of the project Les Machines de L’Île in Nantes. It took three years to plan and design, and nine months and 160 people to build. It was yet another wonderful interactive art piece that the Centquatre is known for exhibiting.
