Luxembourg Bench
I was walking with my family through the Jardin du Luxembourg on New Year’s Day and noticed this bench in a perspective I hadn’t noticed ever before.
My two-year-old daughter waited patiently (sort of) in her stroller while I composed this image.
I chose to convert the image to black and white because, for me, the moment reminds me of what I imagine this same spot might have looked like 100 years ago. I love how the light leads from below the bench in the bottom of the frame all the way to tree branches (clearly winter) at the top.
We continued on to the children’s playground for an afternoon of unbridled play.
Technical Details: iPhone 4, Hipstamatic app, John S lens, Ina’s 1969 film. Post-production with PhotoShop Express app.
