Madame de Sévigné, Parisian Letters at the Carnavalet

Event Description
The Musée Carnavalet, the fabulous Paris history museum, is staging an exhibit on the 400th anniversary of the birth of the Marquise de Sévigné, the literary figure who resided in the mansion now housing the museum in the late 17th century. (Check out our article about the profound influence of her letter-writing, and how it’s a window into the political and social tensions of an era.) In the exhibit, her life will be recounted through more than 200 works from the museum’s collections (paintings, drawings, and objects).
