A native of New York City, Jane earned her BA at Queens College of the City University of New York, and her MA and PhD degrees in English at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is an experienced teacher and educational counselor, working in secondary schools, universities, and lifelong learning. Most recently, she has taught about WWII at the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Duke University. Currently an independent scholar, she has participated in numerous academic conferences and lectured extensively in the United States and abroad. She is a member of the Southern Association for College Admissions Counseling (SACAC), the Victorian Society of New York, and the Alliance Francaise chapters in New York City and Raleigh, NC. The author of three academic books and many articles, Jane began writing The Paris Photo after finding unexplained pictures among her late father’s papers.
