Fraîch ‘Attitude
Fraîch’Attitude is a unique art gallery in the center of Paris. “An art gallery?” you ask. “But you’re here to tell us about food!”Well, exactly! Let me explain: the focus of Fraîch’Attitude is on food-related contemporary art. They showcase the work of photographers, painters, sculptors, video directors, designers and scenographers, producing four new exhibitions every year. Some of those are art shows of the classic type, like the recent display of photographs from Ducasse’s new “SPOON” cookbook, while some are more experimental, inviting the visitor to interact with the work of art on display, which may very well be… edible. In addition to those exhibitions, Fraîch’Attitude also organizes events of different natures: fashion shows, workshops, performances, tastings, etc. It was created and financed by the Aprifel, the French agency for the promotion of fresh produce, so fruits and vegetables often occupy the center of the stage, in the most creative ways. The ambition is to remind the public that beyond the gustatory pleasure and the day-to-day need to fuel your body, food is in itself a source of beauty and wonder, an invitation to communicate and share, and a meeting point of cultures.Their newest event is soon to begin, and it is called “Jeux de fruits” (fruit games, a pun on “jus de fruits”, fruit juice). From April 27 to May 10, the gallery will be positively invaded by fruit, in all shapes and forms: a strawberry bar, a fruit and vegetable carving workshop, cooking experiments in the lab-kitchen, talks and demonstrations on a variety of topics. It all promises to be fun, original and colorful. For more information and to sign up for the workshops and activities, call Lucile in the afternoon (01 49 49 15 15) or send an email to [email protected].
