Discover the treasures of this legendary city on the Silk Road. “On the Roads to Samarkand. Wonders of Silk and Gold” at the Institut du Monde Arabe showcases some 300 items from the museums of Uzbekistan on show for the first time in Paris. Think gorgeous textiles, jewelry and precious objects such as velvet chapans (coats), suzanis embroidered hangings, silk ikats, gold embroidered accessories from the Emir’s court, and silver horse harnesses decorated with turquoise.
