Manga. An art of its own! at Musée Guimet

Event Description

The “Manga. An art of its own!”, which runs until 9 March 2026 on all three floors of the Musée Guimet, focuses on manga, a symbol of Japanese pop culture that is enjoying dazzling success in Europe and around the world. The origins, history and evolution of Japanese comics are evoked through original plates and magazines presented alongside objects and graphic works from the museum’s collections. We discover an art form sublimated by the overflowing imagination of 20th and 21st century mangaka masters, but also a cultural phenomenon that has influenced Western civilizations, notably in fashion and haute couture.
