La Caverne du Pont Neuf: JR Pays Tribute to Christo and Jeanne-Claude

Event Description
French artist JR is paying tribute to Christo and Jeanne-Claude, the legends who once wrapped the Pont Neuf, with a large-scale, immersive project that transforms Paris’s oldest bridge into a grotto. He’s referencing the quarries of Lutetian limestone that were used to build the bridge and other Parisian buildings centuries ago. Only half of the bridge is used. You can walk across the bridge, “through” the cave; the entry point is in the middle, closest to the Left Bank side. You cannot access the walkway from the side nearest the Cheval Blanc hotel and metro Pont Neuf.
