This stellar exhibit at the Musée du Quai Branly – Jacques Chirac focuses on gold in the textile arts from Antiquity to the present day. The world’s most precious metal, originating in Outer Space, has been a symbol of wealth and splendor since its discovery by humans nearly 7000 years ago. Immerse yourself in the history of gold via the textiles that have been sublimated through embroidery and technical expertise, from all four corners of the world. An exhibit highlight are the gorgeous haute couture creations by Chinese designer Guo Pei, interspersed throughout the space.
