Festival de l’Orangerie de Sceaux returns for 2016 with a host of talented musicians, composers and artists. Set in the beautiful l’Orangerie du Domaine de Sceaux, the festival provides the perfect setting to sit back and enjoy the spectacular compositions. The former property of Jean-Baptiste Colbert (minister of Louis XIV), l’Orangerie du Domaine de Sceauxand is known for its rich architectural and landscape heritage. The 47th edition of the Festival de l’Orangerie de Sceaux, directed by Jean-François Heisser, pays tribute to the celebrated German composer Robert Schumann. The program delves deep into the remarkable impact of his compositions on German music, featuring a broad overview of his chamber music and an intimate sonata for two instruments. Notable composers Haydn, Mozart, Schubert and Brahms will also be celebrated, highlighting the vast skill and influence of Schumann.

The diverse line-up celebrates a huge host of performers, both young and experienced. Starting the proceedings are the fantastic Hermes Quartet; artists in the line up include Anne Queffélec and Gaspard Dehaene, Quatuor Tchalik, Quatuor Cambini and many more talented artists, view the full program here.
