Cézanne and Us at the Grand Palais

Event Description
Get ready to book tickets. This autumn show at the Grand Palais has been billed as an “unprecedented exhibition dedicated to Paul Cezanne (1839–1906) and his artistic legacy.” Some 180 works will explore the artist’s influence on other icons like Paul Gauguin, Henri Matisse, Pablo Picasso, Piet Mondrian, and Joan Mitchell, Bridget Riley, and Peter Doig. To quote the curators: “The exhibition reveals a complex and multifaceted history shaped by appropriation, artistic lineage, and aesthetic tensions. It invites you to view Cezanne through the successive perspectives he has inspired, culminating in our own contemporary gaze.”
