Barbie Exhibition, Les Arts Decoratif

Event Description

The Museum of Decorative Arts, known for its design, fashion, toy and advertising collections host an exhibition dedicated to the iconic American doll Barbie. The show will include more than 700 dolls, dating from Barbie’s first appearance in 1959, dolls and gowns from the museum collection, works by contemporary artists alongside newspapers, photos and videos which all aim to contextualise the history of Barbie.

The exhibition aims to highlight the little known historical heritage of Barbie, presenting the brand through the display of the dolls loved by children internationally and exploring the indelible mark the brand has made on the socio-cultural history of toys in the 20^th and 21^st centuries. This show will be a fun, informative event for children and adults alike.
