André Derain, Southern Landscapes at L’Orangerie

Event Description

André Derain is the most represented painter in the collection of the Musée de l’Orangerie, with around 30 paintings. Among them, six landscapes produced around 1930 recall the artist’s attachment to nature, which he painted constantly since his Fauvist beginnings. With more than 200 landscape canvases painted in this period, almost all of which passed through the hands of Paul Guillaume, this sample is revealing of Derain’s work.
