Founding Myths at the Louvre

What are myths? And how are they portrayed? How are myths passed on to us? Presented in the new Petite Galerie, the exhibition “Founding Myths” tells how illustrators, sculptors, painters, puppeteers, filmmakers, and musicians around the world have drawn inspiration from myths, given them form, and brought them to life.

The exhibition displays some 70 artworks,from antiquity to Jean Cocteau, drawing from the representation of myth in sources as diverse as Star Wars, Japanese manga, and Fantômas.
