Taste’s concept showcases the hip and happening on the Parisian restaurant scene

The 5th edition of Taste of Paris, the French foodie wonderland, gathers 43 tip top chefs, 21 pâtissiers, 17 eclectic pop-up restaurants, 50 ateliers and masterclasses, 100 artisans and producers — all under the shimmering glass roof of the Grand Palais.

Here’s where the culinary superstars appear alongside Generation Top Chef, creating an exciting mix and perfect panorama of Paris’s current (pardon the pun) restaurant scene.

Mixing haute gastronomy with bistro and street food meet and greet top chefs including Alain Ducasse and Romain Meder, Eric Frechon, Frédéric Duca, Adeline Grattard, Nicolas Sale, François Perret, Fréderic Anton (soon to unlock the doors of the revamped Jules Verne), Thierry Marx (about to launch the new brasserie concept at the Eiffel Tower), Nina Metayer, Kei Kobayashi, Denny Imbroisi, Pierre Sang Boyer, Juan Arbelaez working with his friends Rafael Gomes (Itacoa), Christophe Aribert (Maison Aribert, Uriage), Bruno Doucet (La Régalade) etc.

Sponsors include Electrolux, Ferrandi Paris, Laurent Perrier, Porsche, Badoit, Monoprix, Mairie de Paris, Elle A Table, Uber Eats, Academie du Gout, Le Café Alain Ducasse, Le Figaro, France Bleu, Paris etc.

Because every chef’s reputation depends on them, discover products from 100 artisans and producers, such as Le Baume de Bouteville (French version of balsamic vinegar extraordinaire), Epoisse based Fromagerie Berthaut, the Japanese Knife Company, and the Anjou based apple farmers’ products from Les Vergers de la Silve.

There are lots of newcomers this year: Maison Vérot, an artisanal high-end delicatessen with no restaurant, but four Paris boutiques; The Refugee Food Festival (at Ground Control), with Syrian chef Mohammad Elkhaldy; Andreas Mavrommatis (Mavrommatis), legendary Michelin star chef of Greek cuisine in Paris; Jean-Edern Hurstel, ex-The Peninsula before the recent launch of his eponymous Edern; and Fauchon with head chef Sébastien Monceaux and pastry chef François Daubinet.

The Four Seasons Hotel George V makes a united statement with their four talented chefs: Christian Le Squer (Le Cinq), Simone Zanoni (The George), Alan Taudon (The Orangerie) and Maxime Frédéric (Pastry Chef).

Have you noticed that top chefs are deliciously taking over main line station buffets? Showcasing their station signatures: ***Eric Frechon (9th May evening) for Lazare at Gare Saint Lazare. ***Thierry Marx for L’Etoile du Nord  at the Gare du Nord (10th May noon and night). ***Michel Roth (ex-Ritz) representing La Gare du Metz, named the most beautiful station in France 2017 (11th May noon and night session). **Michel Rostang, Le Train Bleu, Gare de Lyon will be there noon and night Sunday 12th May.
