To be a part of an exclusive experience!
The founder of AmericanConcierge.com, Sharon Carr, is inviting you to attend a unique and in-depth experience in Paris this October and we’re calling it “6 Shades of Paris”.
What is the 6 Shades of Paris?
L’Arte, Culture, La Cuisine, L’Histoire, Music et Le Mode. 6 Shades was designed to get the most out of exploring Paris in all its many faces: see it, hear it, touch it, taste it and feel it. This experience is all-inclusive with flights, hotel, and daily unique activities including history tours, food experiences, and not-so-easy-to-find cultural gems.
Why 6 Shades?
We created 6 Shades for those who want a shared experience in an exclusive setting (the trip is limited to ten people). Our goal is to give travellers the opportunity to create unique and lasting memories on a trip that only AmericanConcierge.com can offer. Whether you are a curious first time visitor or a passionate Francophile, 6 Shades is a great opportunity to discover (or rediscover) the meaning behind Audrey Hepburn’s infamous line from the film Sabrina: “Paris is always a good idea.”
Below we’ve included an outline of the trip – spaces are limited and we are expecting to fill up quickly. Contact us today to learn more.
Day 1 – October 21st
You’ll be picked up from the airport and taken to your hotel to settle in. The first day will be relaxing, giving you time to recover from your long flight and adjust to the time change. For tips on how to make the best of an overnight flight, read this.
Later that afternoon we will head to the top of Montmartre for a breathtaking view and walking tour of the neighborhood. After touring Montmartre, dinner will be at one of our favorite restaurants. The night will end with a two-hour Paris Night Lights drive, to see all the Paris landmarks, from Notre-Dame to the Eiffel Tower, lit up in all their splendor.
Day 2 – October 22nd
The morning will begin with either a tour of Notre Dame, or at Saint-Jacques Saint-Christophe de la Villette to meet and listen to a performance by a Master Pipe Organist. Equally lovely ways to begin the day.
We’ll meet for lunch before an architectural walking tour to discover the Angels of Paris in their many hiding places—rooftops, doorways, windowsills—lead by our head concierge, Rosemary. After the tour, we’ll enjoy dinner at an old-style romantic restaurant with a hint of Provence, on the lovely Ile Saint-Louis.
Day 3 – October 23rd
The day’s theme is history and you will have two options. The first is a walking tour exploring Paris in 1778 and the relationship between Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, and the French Revolution. For those who love fashion, the second option is a historical tour about the life of designer Coco Chanel. Whichever you choose, it is sure to be an entertaining and informative morning!
After lunch, we’ll explore one of the oldest neighborhoods in Paris, with a focus on the history of Le Marais from the French Revolution to WWII.
Day 4 – October 24th
What better way to spend a day in Paris than with fine cheese and fine wine? The morning will begin with Debbi’s Cheese Tasting that starts at Debbi’s favorite fromagerie to pick out a selection of cheeses before heading over to Debbi’s apartment for a discussion on our selections and the traditions and cultures that surround them. Lunch will be served with the appropriate wines, salad and charcuterie.
Our evening destination will be a concert at the brand new Philharmonie de Paris.
Day 5 – October 25th
We’ll start the day by exploring the traditions of French royalty with a trip to Versailles. We will visit all the main sites including the palace, ornamental gardens, and the Petit Trianon, where Marie Antoinette held her private parties. We’ll stop for lunch along the way at La Flotille.
After dinner back in Paris, we’ll reconvene for the famous Moulin Rouge, home of the Can-Can. It may be Vegas meets Paris with some Broadway thrown in for good measure but even the most cynical amongst us will be delighted by the shimmering, feathered costumes, unique music, and dance.
Day 6 – October 26th
Before exploring the great art museums of Paris, we’ll start the day with world famous hot chocolate at Angelina (cholerically speaking worth every sip!). After indulging, we’ll walk off it off with a privately guided two-hour tour of Louvre highlights. We’ll see the Mona Lisa, the Venus de Milo, the famous Winged Victory, and the Medieval Passageway during our visit.
From the Louvre, we’ll stroll through the Tuileries Garden, which separates the museum from the Place de la Concorde. Our concierge will leave us to enjoy the l’Orangerie Museum, home to Monet’s Water Lily murals, and an extensive collection of impressionist and post-impressionist art.
We’ll have a late (gourmet) box lunch on the first floor of the Eiffel Tower, with amazing views of Paris.
Afterwards we’ll rendezvous for an Art Gallery Crawl that includes the innovative creations of painters, sculptors, and installation artists on view in the lively northern Marais district, Paris’ hotspot for the latest artistic trends.
Dinner at Pompidou Centre’s Café Georges, will finish off our day. Café Georges is a beautiful restaurant with a large terrace overlooking the capital. The food and ambiance at the Café are as unique as the art. If time allows, we can take a quick look at the special exhibitions at the Musée.
Day 7 – October 27th
And now we’ll shop! Starting at the famous antique market, Marche aux Puces de Saint-Ouen, where you’ll be sure to find the perfect keepsakes and gifts among the abundance of French antiques, from jewelry to furniture. Afterwards we’ll enjoy lunch at one of the many excellent restaurants in the area. The afternoon will be designed free time for you to explore and revisit the places you enjoyed most all on your own (or with new friends from the trip).

We’ll conclude the day and our six shades experience with dinner on Le Calife, a 5-star cruising restaurant. We’ll enjoy incredible food and views as we float through the heart of Paris, seeing the landmarks one last time from the water for our final farewell.
