Joseph Lestrange profile
Joseph Lestrange is an American writer who has been wandering around Paris without any particular destination in mind for many years. His interest is in ordinary life at street level, and the subjects of his stories are consequently and naturally varied or, when you get right down to it, promiscuous. He may write about falling off a jump seat in the Métro, a blind man in an art museum, getting stuck in an elevator, freaked-out foreigners, being stalked by a fat lady, and about garbage cans, pissoirs, shovels, or anything else he has bumped into. He will not tell you the best places to eat mussels, which bus to take to the Opéra, or how to arrange a vacation on a barge. His only intention is to show you Paris from day to day, not as a museum or an array of monuments, but as a city many people live in and many others visit—or hope to. His take on his experiences is personal if not altogether eccentric. His real name of course is not Joseph Lestrange.
