Nicole Smith profile

A native New Yorker, Nicole Smith knew she wanted to be a writer from a very early age. She began publishing her own children's books from her parents' basement while still in elementary school. Nicole went on to major in journalism at New York University, where before graduation, her freelance work had already been published in the The New York Times and the Village Voice. A day after graduation, she started as an assistant editor at Direct Marketing News. She fell in love with Paris on her first trip to Europe at the age of 21 and has thought of nothing else since. After working five years in the public relations industry, she decided to finally take the plunge and moved to Paris in 2011 with nothing more than two suitcases. Nicole enjoys taking in new exhibits, wandering through the gardens of Versailles, and watching European football with her boyfriend in their studio apartment by Canal Saint Martin.
