they have a Ham and flea market weekend.

Mimi - what great memories I have of that Market - it's like no others! I USED to attend when I needed furniture for our apartment.

Born to Shop Suzy Gershman and I had such a wonderful time there. She wrote about out escape in C'est La Vie!

I MUST get into more of a tourist mentality. I miss such events because I am sitting behind a computer~!

Each time I look at the red lacquer "antique Chinese" in my living room, I remember that day with such fondness.

Let's not forget the "Fournaise" where Renoir painted, "The Luncheon." Located in Chatou where in March, they have a Ham and flea market weekend.

You can find Guinguettes restaurants and beautiful péniches.
It's a good idea to spend an afternoon walking along the Seine and visit little wooden houses. I would say that there are similitudes with the wooden houses we find in Amsterdam or in London!

It's a charming destination and so long since I've been there!!!

Thank you for the reminder~~
With pleasure, Ellen!

Merci, frenchgirl. I would never have known about this area. Please continue to let us know about places like this!
That's where Georges Seurat painted Sunday Afternoon in the Park! wub.gif
If you take the line 3, in metro, and stop at the terminus Pont de Levallois-Bécon, you can discover a very private and original place: The île de la Jatte, a little island on the Seine, Between Levallois-Perret and Neuilly-sur-Seine.
