Privacy has become almost a one liner.

HEY FELLAS, GIMMIE A BREAK. Problem is there are no smilies on this message format. Carlyn....of course it was a comical note or facetious as just used below.. Don't know about France ,but in the US of A with Bank and Credit Card mail with special notes about government induced Privacy law mailings, Privacy has become almost a one liner.
It was a very nice evening and a pleasure to see people I already knew and make the acquaintance of those I didn't know. A big thanks to Karen for hosting as well as to the other attendees.

Carlyn.........So who was there???????? hope it isn't contrary to BP privacy rules.

Al === there are no privacy rules! Whatever gave you that idea? Carlyn and Robert, Dennis, Budd and Leona who write for BP. Jim Morgan who wrote "Chasing Matisse." Stacy. I know there were a few others but please accept it's a memory lapse and not a matter of secrecy. Oh - Jenny !
Al,
I dont have a clue as to what you are talking about in regards to privacy rules or whether you are being
comical.

Well last night was a delightful Bonjour Paris soiree with over a dozen expatriates getting together for champagne and a fabulous pot luck at the lovely home of this generation's Pearl Mesta of international entertaining- our own Karen Fawcett. It was a wonderful opportunity to meet other B.P. writers and readers as well as renew old friendships .
thank you for letting me know. ;-) Hopefully Al will as well.
So far, I'm receiving all notifications...
Karen.....for what it's worth, I have not received any email notices on this series of GTGs. It was working ok but the last 3 or so seems broken again.

On the last one in DC alot of names I know not. Seems the names of posters was missing.

Al -thank you for the update. I received notification of your post???
As for the names of the people who attended the Bonjour Paris DC get together, not all of our readers post. In spite of that, we're delighted to have them feel a part of the BP family. And they are.

I know,I know. I have already scheduled 2 successful Paris GTGs this year...Marc did the organizing for me and then family problems would not let me attend. But "How about next Wednesday?" wouldn't do me much good then. In any event, I've left info on when a reasonable time for another would be good.

Al - we're going to start having more events and with more notice. I realize this one was way too short. Did you read about the DC get together?

We certainly had a lot of fun.
Oh Al: I was being facetious. But unfortunately, we can't schedule get-togethers when everyone is here. And not everyone is from Paris. There are a quite of few attendees who aren't. Please let me assure you you're more than welcome to organize a gathering wherever and whenever. You'll be amazed by how many people will attend.

KAREN....YOU CAN'T BE SERIOUS. You make a GTG in less than a weeks notice and proba bly all are Paris residents and you want me to change my reservations practically overnight which you know is not possible..To bad this format doesnit have smilies....yyou would have gotten a few dozen.

Al -- why are you going to be here next week???
Oct 22nd. Can you change your trip?? STP?

In Paris.....GREAT. How about between November 11th and 13th???? A real GTG.
The Washington ones are great, but one of these years I'll get to one in Paris! I'll be with you all in spirit...
Count me in! Now, what to bring... any requests?
There is zero reason that there can't be BP get togethers whenever ...
People can gather in any cafe. The Washington one was a BLAST!!!
Well, I know this is REALLY EARLY, but ummm... can another one be planned for next fall when I come back? Yeah, I mean 2009. :( waaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!
I am happy to host it if everyone brings something!! I'll supply the wine!
it is never too early!! Who is here? I will contact Mark and Paula.Where shall we have it?
How about next Wednesday, Oct 22? I know it's pushing the season but hey .....
